Tom Bolivar Posted May 4, 2007 Posted May 4, 2007 The pictures here already cover what I would have to add picturewise. One anomality though. One jar has the green seal on the right, the other has it on the left. If the serial numbers from the seals will help I could post them.
El Presidente Posted May 4, 2007 Author Posted May 4, 2007 Thanks Tom. Please post the warranty seal numbers for me. I will have this investigation finalised within the next week. Again, no-one should feel at this time that they are holding faux stock. The reason for what we are doing is to ascertain the true sory of the re-release 2002 Montecristo Millenium Jars. Specifically: Why the release. How were they released/distribution Were the cigars rolled in 2002 or were they rolled 1999. Changes in packaging between 1999 and 2002. How to identify.
slb6r Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 As far as I remember, the original release was rolled in 1998 and released in early 1999.
slb6r Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 » Back from the lab: The seal numbers are » » BA 217329 » AC 031659 » Hello Tom, for which of the two seal numbers do you have the box code (and what is the code)? Thanks and Cheers, Stephen
Tom Bolivar Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 » Hello Tom, for which of the two seal numbers do you have the box code (and » what is the code)? I'll need to go down to the basement again to answer that. :-D
habanohal Posted May 5, 2007 Posted May 5, 2007 I dony have mine anymore. I smoked half the jar of the Monty and the Cohiba. I teaded the rest away. They werent even sub par cigars. I would say they were the lightest bodied cigars I have ever tasted. I had a Cohiba Yesturday that I was gifted through a vendor. Had it sittin for a year and wanted to see if my trades were stupid. Well this one was the first cigar of the day. Now the 1st of the day is always the best for me. ( fresh taste buds) It just made me at ease on gettin rid of my others. Yet another light bodied and almost tasteless cigar. Tasteings of a light citrus grass, but thats it. I paid $800 for each jar years ago, and I know if I would of kept them intact , I could most likely get double for them now. Just my $.02:-(
Tom Bolivar Posted May 6, 2007 Posted May 6, 2007 » Hello Tom, for which of the two seal numbers do you have the box code » (and » what is the code)? AC something had the box code from November 2002. The other one did not come with a code (but judging from the pictures of the 1999 card board box from Rob my second one is a 2002 jar too). Regards, Tom

Cohiba007 Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 My 02 box. I dont remember if it came with a lid on it. But as you can see, no sign of any stickers on box. It did come from an LCDH though.

Arkay Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » Hello Ron, » » Interesting. Do you have a box code on your cardboard box? I will post » pictures later of the cardboard box and the inside of the jar. The box has » a different lid compared to the 1999 ones. No box code on the jar or cardboard box. Ron
Tom Bolivar Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 Back from the lab: The seal numbers are BA 217329 AC 031659 And here are some pictures. (Sorry, was to lazy to take the jars out of the zip lock bags...) Actually I do not fear that I have fakes at all since I got both of the "buckets" from very reliable Swiss merchants. And the following runs in the category of "good that I never throw anything away..." :-D Judging from the box both jars are from 2002. Regards, Tom
slb6r Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » » Need your Date code Don't have the date code (it's not on the jar). I just took some pics.
slb6r Posted November 15, 2008 Posted November 15, 2008 » Love to see a pic of that lid and one from 1999. Here some more pics. I can take more. Let me know what you want to see. Also, what info on these do you have?
