smoking legislation - starting June 1st in Finland

i am trying to beg for some sympathy from you guys, since beginning july 1st 2007, smoking inside restaurants is no longer possible here in Finland. If wanted, restaurants can built a separate smoking room, but that is not a serving area...

so the cigar smokers who take their time and enjoy smokes for tens of minutes with a beverage or smthng lose the most here. damn!

Or you can smoke outside the reataurant on the terrace as long as the smoke is not carried inside... thats ok in the summer but in winter it migt be 20 below zero degrees Celsius here, so not recommended..

i am honestly pissed of and crying over this

New Zealand and America is already in the same situation, in NZ no smoking in any public building is allowed and in the States some areas no smoking in any public place is allowed, even in Cuba, the home of the cigar.. you haven't got it too rough but I sympathise

here the public buildings have been no smoking area for a long time already and even some public areas such as bus stops etc...

i can understand those, but restaurants i do not.

i actually do, as a property investor I'd like a majority of my patrons to be happy, at the same time i also want my smokers top be equally happy, restraunts are much different to bars in a sense, I don't have a problem going out of the main restraunt into a seperate area...

i argee on the majority patrons point of view, but when this separate area is a sealed up tiny room with no serving / taking drinks/food into it...

i'd rather enjoy my cigar with something aside... you know enjoying my time, notstuffed away to some dark dungeon with a sign on the door sayin "having fun strictly prohibited" as i see the no serving thing.

the smoking rooms are not even decorated to make you feel comfortable...
