urgent question

brought some 2005 EL monte ds of a friend, vacuum sealed them and sent them onto new zealand is this ok to do? another online store who sells very good cigars does this with all their orders, once they get home they be straight into the humidor, is this ok?

Just kidding :-) Some time ago, another member (sorry I don't recall who) posted

some pics of a box he received that had been vacuum sealed.

They were very box pressed. If I recall correctly, there were no draw issues,

and one lit and warmed up, they came back into shape, as most pressed cigars

usually do. I'm sure your cigars will be fine.

Have fun in Spain - safe travels there, and back to NZ.

(don't forget to stock up on the great Spanish wines!)

Avoid Vacuum sealing singles if you can. There is too high a chance of damage to cigar extremeties.

You're not kidding Rob...I wanted to safely send a few sticks to a frien in another state. I put them in a vacuum sealer and befor I could stop the damn thing it sucked them down and looked like yesterdays sausages !!!!...I popped the bag and shipped them differently..

Yeah I had some davidoff singles rob, but I thought it safer just to buy a humidor and keep them in rather than trying to post them!
