I really like this cigar. It doesn't seem to get a lot of press and I'm not sure why. One problem I do find with this stick is, due to the thin RG 38, it can be rolled to tight which makes for a very frustrating smoke. There seems to alway be a few, a few to many IMO, rolled to tightly.

Beautiful looking cigar, thin smooth dark brown wrapper, firmly packed. Medium resistance on the prelight draw. Toasted the foot to a uniform orange glow. 1st few pulls were a bit strong and harsh but very quickly settled into a flavorful Monty tabacco flavor. Smoked continued to become more established and flavorful with some hints cacao and some other flavor that was very pleasureable but couldn't quite come to grips with what it was. Perfect even burn tight gray ash that held on for about 2".

Midway through I found myself looking at this cigar licking my lips and thinking to myself this is one fine smoke. Wonderful finish to every draw that left a tasty sweetness on my lips. The flavor continued to develope with hints of very tasty "things" peeking through. I nubbed this cigar, its flavor never got harsh or hot right down to about 3/4" nub.

No question a staple in my humi....

Thanks for the review. I'm with you, I'm awaiting the day to taste something in a cigar and actually be able to put an adjective to it other than creamy or "this tobacco tastes good".

I think this is an outstanding smoke, but as you said, the ring gauge makes it hit or miss. I find this true of even the Monte D's. three or four in a box of ten were simply too tight to smoke, which was too bad since the ones that were good were really, really good. As a general rule, I avoid any thin gauge Monte because of this.

Thanks for the review.

This is one of my new favorites. It has actually leap-frogged several others to get closer to the front. I am currently smoking from both '02s and '04s...they are superb. Great construction and the sweet "gingerbread" quality just comes out in spades. Love'em.:ok:
