Colt45 Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Bought as singles, I was given the codes, but forget - I believe it was from '02. Construction: everything in order. Wrapper: medium caramel in color, smooth, light sheen. Draw: started on the loose side, but became better once it warmed up. Great smoke volume. Taste: started out toasty wood and nuts, with light white pepper on the tongue. As it progressed, lightly stewed fruits became part of the mix. It really never diverged from this general profile. Everything was in balance and well integrated. Up to medium in body overall. There was a slight sharp tinge throughout, but not enough to adversely effect the overall flavor. A very enjoyable cigar! Question: I've yet to try the HdM churchill (I eventually will). Can anyone offer a general comparison between the two? Thanks.
gersonmorelli Posted September 4, 2006 Posted September 4, 2006 Also had a HdM DC this weekend, on a sunny saturday aftenoon after a BBQ at the beach (downhere in Brazil). Mine was younger, Nov 2004. Construction was above average, didn't have to relight it not once. I also noticed the wood / white pepper on the first 1/3 and the stewed fruits on the second 1/3, but as I reached the last third a floral taste came up. Great smoke!

While Anthony Bourdain was still on the food network, he did a show from Brazil, showing the whole beach / food scene. Didn't look like much fun.......... It'd be great to see some pics!

I like Bourdain very much. He's a man's man in the foodie world. If only we could get him to smoke cigars on his show.
xibbumbero Posted September 6, 2006 Posted September 6, 2006 You should try the 05/06 HdM DC's. Methinks they kicked them up a notch. X:-P
