Hi everybody. I know this has probably been asked a thousand times but....

I am very new to the world of cigar smoking having only tried 6 or 7 different varieties of Cuban cigar. I was wondering if anybody had any suggestions for some new types of cigar for me to try? The cigars I have like the most have been the Rey Del Mundo Lunch Club, the Jose L Piedra Cazadores, and the Juan Lopez petit corona. The last cigar I tasted was a Bolivar petit corona which I found to be a touch too spicy for my inexperienced taste. I have no real preference of size or cost and would welcome any suggestions.

Welcome aboard! :-)

Since you liked the Lunch Club, I'd recommend any other of the offerings from El Rey del Mundo, like the Choix Supreme which is excellent. The other offerings of the Juan Lopez line are also good, especially the Seleccion No. 1 and 2.

Some other milder brands to try would be La Gloria Cubana, Hoyo de Monterrey, Romeo y Julieta, Vegueros, Montecristo, and Diplomaticos.

After a while, you'll build up your tolerance and can then enjoy some of the more full-bodied brands like Bolivar.

Have fun!

While there are surely many, if I had to suggest just one, it would be the

ubiquitous Montecristo #4.

But I always like the idea of getting a few samples each of a number of

different sticks to try.

Good luck and have fun!

I would suggest RyJ (almost any one, but the Exhibicion 4 is light and tasty) and Ramone Allones Specially Selected.

Definitely try the Choix Supreme. Preferrably an pre 2005 as they seem to be stronger now than before. But I may be wrong. A RyJ Ex#4 is a great choice. All my novice friends love them. And so do I! Juan Lopez is an excellent idea. Any of them! **** there are so many good ones. I just had a Diplomaticos #4 and it was very mild and an excellent daytime smoke. Or, an Epicure #1 might fit your bill. I am rambling.

In addition to what the guys above mentioned and based off the size cigar you seem to prefer:

JLopez patricia

Sancho Panza non-plus and bachaillare

Monte 4 and 5

Dip 4 and 5

Quintero panetela

Montecristo #4

Hoyo de Monterey Epicure # 2

Partagas Serie D #4

Some of my favorite starters but you cant gowrong with the sampler suggested above.

Hoyo De Monterrey Epicure No. 2 is a larger robusto cigar that is full of flavour but not too strong.

To try some stronger brands like Partagas you could go for a smaller size.

Partagas Short

Cohiba Siglo 1

Trinidad Reyes - very tasty

I forgot one thing, aitker...

...DO NOT, under any circumstances, buy or smoke Guantanameras!

You'll save more money if you just roll up some newspaper and light that up, plus it'll taste better. :-D
