cigardawg Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 I am going to be in Boston, MA on business from Tuesday, 30 May until Thursday, 1 June. If there are members in the area, would love to get together to share a Habano or four. Will be arriving around 1 pm on the 30th. Will have that afternoon and evening available and most likely the evening of the 31st as well. Will be leaving around 5 pm on the 1st. Post here or send me an email if you are interested in getting together for a smoke. Looking forward to it.
Colt45 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Dawg I don't know how familiar you are with Boston, but here are a few cigar lounges: Stanza dei Sigari on Hanover Street in the North End (Boston's Little Italy) Churchill's on North Street Cigar Masters on Boylston Street I think, but am not sure, that Cigar MAsters is the only one that charges a cutting fee if you bring your own. I'll be working during your stay, but if that changes, I'll let you know before the 30th. Have fun1

Have fun1 Thanks for the info on the cigar lounges. I'll have to check one or more of them out. As for familiarity, this is my first time to Boston. I am staying at the Hyatt in Cambridge, close to MIT. I've never heard of a cutting fee. I always try to "pay my dues" by buying a stick or two (at least) from an establishment, but charging a cutting-fee is ridiculous. Hope you are able to get away.
Colt45 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 If you buy a cigar there, there wouldn't be a fee. They charge the fee because of the laws in Mass. In order to allow smoking, they have to earn 60% (I believe) of their income from tobacco sales. If you don't go into Boston, you could always hang on the banks of the Charles, light up, and enjoy the scenery!

Looks like Cigar Masters is going to be closest to me, but I wouldn't mind checking out Churchills either. I'll just take a cab to whichever we choose. I am thinking of going somewhere Tuesday afternoon. What time would you be available? I would assume in the evening. LMK. Scot
