I bought a couple boxes of 10 of these dated FEB 98 some time ago. I tried one, didn't think it was anything exceptional and forgot about them until a week or so ago.

This is a Julieta #2 (Churchill) sized cigar with a nice, dark wrapper. Construction and appearance were fine. Per-light draw was perfect -- not too lose or too tight. Guillotine cutter was used.

As with most cigars of this size and larger, the original taste was quite mild and subdued. However, this one didn't take long to offer some exceptional sweet, woody character and complexity. It may have been the accompanying decaf, but I also got coffee undertones.

Needed to purge the cigar of some bitter gases with about 1/3 of it left, and it refreshed beautifully.

This cigar suprised me with some great flavors, medium strength through the nose and good complexity. It proves once again that some of the lesser known or discussed marcas produce excellent smokes that are of good value.

Nice review Van. I think I remember hearing about these boxes some time ago.

I personally LOVE the SP line and prefer that it remains relatively unknown. More for me!

I'm almost through a box of Sanchos that have been nothing short of amazing! And my 01 Non-plus have been phenominal. . . when they draw. :-(

Great review Van :ok:

I have found them to be hit and miss cigars. When on they are exactly as you have described but when not can be mildand almost herbal in nature.

You have forced me to try another later today ;-)
