I'm a watch freak, love em to death and wish I could build on my meager collection. I can't go by an high end jewelry store without looking through their cases and trying a few on. As of now, I have one "crown jewel" (to me) but plan on adding to that in the future (as I had to sell my other pride and joy to obtain the one currently on my wrist).

Future purchases will be Panerai, Oris, Omega (had one and sold it :-( ), Sinn, ???

Any of you into watches, pens, etc?

I also know El Prez is an Oris fan, but don't you think you could get into vintage Rolex if ya REALLY tried? ;-)

God I love this picture!

I love writing with fountain pens. I think that Pelikan are producing the best pens by far. My favourite pen is a special edition M605 from the Souveran series, in navy blue with silver banding, and a medium nib. It has the best nib I have ever had the pleasure of using. It is very smooth and flows very well, but has a slightly tactile feel at the same time. The perfect balance!

I've never really gotten into the fountain pen thing, I'm a roller ball kinda guy.

I've got a few Mont Blancs, but they feel cheap to me and I'm not crazy about the way they write. My absolute favorite pen is a Cross Townsend I have. Solid, and writes oh so smooth.

I'm not the only one that likes 'em. . .

Oh to get my hands on one of those!!!

My dad has about 6-7 mont blancs (fountains) that he bought years ago when he first got into fountain pens. All of them (even some at well over $1000) write like utter crap. They're merely an image brand, something to be seen with.

If I do get into the fountain thing, I'm gonna have to track down a vintage Parker 51.

Damn. . . this has me thinking about pens again. . . guess it's better than watches. . . :lookaround:

well, being that this was brought up, i must admit i have 2 addictions- cigars and watches. i recently purchased (this month) a panerai and a daniel jean richard. besides those 2, i have and iwc, tiger woods tudor chronograph, and a seiko sportura. hey, if rob has good discounts on oris, that might be the next purchase.

How do you like the Panerai? I've been eyeing them for some time, just not so sure it's a long time keeper for me.

Who knows. . .

i've wanted a panerai for a good few years. always tried to get it discounted, but they are so popular, the most i could find was about 10% off. finally broke down this month and bought one. i love it. they say they are not the best, as far as movement, but then again a quartz casio will keep the most accurate time. i love a massive watch, and there is nothing like panerai. can't really tell you much more, just got it. but the addiction doesn't stop, only want others.

GREAT pics Prez! Oris has been HIGH on my list for the last few years. . . it's only a matter of time. I'm partial to some of the TT1 Divers, XXL Pointer, and XXL Chrono.

We'll see when the wife "lets" me pull the trigger on one. It's much easier to hide a cigar purchase than a watch purchase.

I have the Parker 51 that my mom used in college ... one of the plunger models. Still writes great although I needed to replace the bladder not long ago.

I love watches but don't spend $ on them .. only have a seiko orange monster ... nothing like a "nice" watch but gets the mechanical hankering job done.

OK, I just got a serious hard on that has nothing to do with the pic up top. Wow. I LOVE watches, just can't afford the great ones.

About the picture in the first post...I thought this thread was about watches? I can't find a watch in that pic...;)
