argon345 Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 To meet Gene tonight (crossbow). Stopped by his house to help plan something and this guy not only hit me with a hand full of super premium smokes but also a travel humi to take them home with!!!! Gene, my friend, you are a true gentleman and I look forward to the day where i can return the favor!! Ok, just had to share that...now back to the regularly scheduled program
El Presidente Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Well done Gene Thre is a great brotherhood amongst cigar lovers. The way you give out Freebee's.... reminds me of Lisa
argon345 Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 Hey now, lets not poke fun at Lisa!!! So i Just got done with one of the smokes... a ERDM Lonsdale from early 80's This baby had a smooth, dark and oily wrapper....just damn sexy looking.... It lit up like a champ with a nice clean pull...I was a bit disappointed at first as i was greeted by a very bland tobacco flavor....however my patience was rewarded by an explosion of flavors!! In fact i dont think my bland palette could even begin to list all the flavors...This baby was packed with surprises all the way to the end. I would easily say this is one of my top 5 cigars!!! Thanks again Gene!!! Man if this keeps up your going to redefine my top 5!!!
argon345 Posted March 24, 2006 Author Posted March 24, 2006 Oh ya and i forgot to mention i finished off the whole affair with a healthy glass of The Balvienie 10yr..

So did I after the library trip with my daughter. My friend N2 turned me on to these. He deserves the accolade. Besides I couldnt let you go home knowing that you do not even have a travel humi, Brother Jim. Try the machine made Punch:hungry:
cigarnv Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Gene has a long standing reputation for this type of behavior!! One must remember that no good deed goes unpunished.
DocRKS Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 I've said this before --Bro. Gene is one of the finest individuals I have had the pleasure of meeting owing to my association with cigars... I am proud to call him Friend and Brother........ Wiat a minute- He never gave me a travel humi ---hmmmmmm... No ---he is still Tops in my book
Mel Posted March 24, 2006 Posted March 24, 2006 Doing well for others is humanity at its finest. Well done gentlemen.
CigarZen Posted March 25, 2006 Posted March 25, 2006 That's one of the great things about fine havanas, really do give us a chance to share and form great friendships. . . . my hats off to ya Gene.
argon345 Posted March 28, 2006 Author Posted March 28, 2006 Just finished the Punch machine-made from'86 that Gene gifted me, and i have to say...DAMN fine smoke!!! THis has just topped my list. This baby started out with an explosion of spice and floral or fruit flavor...this stayed strong till the finish becoming slightly more spicy toward the end.... Thank you again Gene!!! Now, what was that thing?? I was in such a hurry to smoke it I forgot to consult MRN to see what it was....
geoffrie Posted March 28, 2006 Posted March 28, 2006 » » Wiat a minute- He never gave me a travel humi ---hmmmmmm... » Had lunch with Gene a two weeks ago and I didn't get a travel humi either?
