I was in an Irish pub on St.Pats Day and got the wiff of cigar with a great aroma. I chatted to the fellah briefly about his choice of cigar and he said it was a Gloria Cubana blah blah blah maduro. I was onto my fourth pint of guiness and there were Irish jigs playing so I didn't catch what it was. It looked like a torp shape and size with a maduro wrapper. It smelt and looked beautiful. But the fact that I was three pints to the wind and the lights were low, almost anything would appear beautiful which probably explains the lass I was doing the Irish jig with later on in the evening, only to come crashing down on my butt in the middle of the crowd with her on top of me. Anyway, would anybody know what this cigar may be. I'd like to give it try. And if anyone knows the lass, just keep that one to yourself. :-D

» Which is it you are willing to give a try: the cigar or the lass?:-D

At this stage, just the cigar. But after 3 or 4 pints that may change. :-|

If it was a torpedo, I'd have to believe it to be an NC LGC. They make torps

in the regular line, and they also have a reserva figurado line.

» Non Cuban La Gloria Cubana. Always look beautiful ;-)

I think that may just explain it.

Ernesto rolls some of the better NC cigars and at a decent value compared to some of the NC crap being sold at premium prices. In 2001 he did a very limited run of cigars that were fantastic. These all were produced for specific clients and came in boxes with the buyers name engraved. Most of the 6 sizes sold for between $135 and $185/ box.

Either a non-Cuban La Gloria Cubana Torpedo or Piramide (the latter is bigger).

I like both the non-Cuban and Cuban versions of this line. The Dominican-made one is definitely one of the better Dominican cigars out there and can be had for a good price too
