tey Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 A friend of mine gave me this stick last night from 2001. I stuck it in the humi uintil I could get some feedback on it. Are these made anymore? He said they were pretty inexpensive. What are your guys's impressions?

Quoting: Slightly salty This is a very subtle "grassy" feel blended within the aromatic herbaceous flavours unique among H. Upmann models. Strength 3/5 Minimum aging 5 yrs. ages extremely well, needs 8 to 10 yrs to reveal it's hidden quality. Outstanding at 5 yrs. Aging potential unlimited. Anticipated to be a classic in 30 to 40 yrs. Sounds like you have a very nice friend, and a dilemma on your hands. Smoke it now when it's merely outstanding? Or wait until it reveals it's hidden qualities and becomes "classic"
El Presidente Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I brought back 5 boxes (01) from Havana (located them in the back of the Casa Habano on the Commodoro Hotel shopping stretch (nice place to have a beer and watch the senorita's walk by). These are Medium bodied sweet cream laced cigars with perhaps a touch of wheat grass (a positive). I love them and rank them as one of the finest of Upmanns many fine offerings. 30 years?......I will be through them in 30 months.
tey Posted March 21, 2006 Author Posted March 21, 2006 Well now lets say hypothetically my friend does not care for them and would welcome me taking them off his hands. What do I do?
sleeper Posted March 21, 2006 Posted March 21, 2006 I have a couple of boxes(01 also) in my cab and really enjoy them. A good size(5.5x40) for me and others who enjoy Upmann and small rg's. When I want something longer than a pc, but not enough time for a corona...Bingo!! I have, of course, encountered some tight ones, but generally well made and below the radar.
