Panning for Gold in Regional Releases Since 2022

One of the most infuriating things about Regional Releases is the huge variation in pricing among regions for very similar cigars and formats.

What we are looking for here in this thread is VALUE. What stands out as excellent buys?

My choice for the Gold medal Award for Regional Releases since 2022 is the Saint Luis Rey Belicosos Edición Regional Alemania

€20 a stick. €500 per box. 6000 boxes of 25.

Your thoughts? Kick some others around that stand out :ok:

I agree with the Belicosos from Saint Luis Rey.

Recently the PL Ignacios was Released in Belux. Geniales (54x150) for 23 €, 230 € for a Box. I made sure to get two Boxes.

JL Valkyria (52x140), bought one box for 250/260 €. I think it almost doesn’t get any better than this.

For someone that tried most of the above, I would like to group them into worth pursuing vs good to have vs don’t bother. This is based on my taste and palate...

Worth pursuing:

Diplomaticos PCC, Genios

Juan Lopez Cincuenta y Cuatro, Sudafrika, Adriatico, Finos

both Sancho Panzas

SLR Adamastor

LFDC Diademas

Good to have:

Juan López Hat-Trick - Qatar (celebrates WC but wrapper tends to break)
Juan López Dom Juan 1622 - Francia

Juan López Pirámides - Andorra
Juan López Valkyria - Países Nórdicos

Fonseca Du Nord - Canada

Saint Luis Rey The A - Asia Pacifico

La Gloria Cubana Podium - Francia (celebrates olympics)

Don't waste your time:

La Flor de Cano Selectos No.3 - Reino Unido (very light)
Punch Néctares No. 50 - Irlanda (Not consistent)
Diplomáticos Legendarios - Italia (weakest of diplo releases)
Por Larrañaga Lotus - Macau (LFDC has better potential in APAC releases)
Saint Luis Rey Belicosos - Alemania (Over rated but good value)

Haven’t tried yet:

Bolívar Orenda - Balcanes
Bolívar Hamaki - Japón
Bolívar Generales - Belux
La Gloria Cubana Serie Brasil No.3 - Brasil
Ramón Allones Casino - MonacoPor Larrañaga Intemporales - Suiza
Por Larrañaga Ignacios - BeluxJuan López Selección Cubana - Cuba

Por Larranaga Leones.Spanish regional 2023. Nice vitola at sub €20 a stick over the counter.

The Leones is a 2021 regional.

Juan López Finos - Países Bajos at $26 a stick isn't terrible I thought.

While I'm unsure of the year (think it was released in 23); the LGC Medaille D'Or Especial was a fair price at around $16 a stick (although I never quite saw them listed that low).
