El Presidente Posted March 10 Posted March 10 The Lizards pair the Cohiba Ambar with twelve year aged Abuelo rum. Popular Post ha_banos Posted March 11 Popular Post Posted March 11 I'm about a third of the way into ..... the episode, not an Ambar unfortunately. Was keen to hear your take on the rum more than the cigar, to be honest, because it's in my ignore list due to price. Anyways. Abuelo 12. I tried this at my local esteemed cigar sampling store along with a Punch Punch Punch Punch Punch ... Too sweet. I didn't know much about it but had a look after and saw the added sugar. Shame. Distillates obvs have zero sugar and after aging they said no Bueno, add azucar! Is this what happens why else would they add sugar than to mask the taste? I will add the sweetness was enough to overpower the spirit character for me. Anyways. Clearly I'm sweet enough as I am. X 8
El Niño Posted March 12 Posted March 12 I haven't made it too far into the episode, but I'm loving this one so far! It's such a good vibe when you guys are really loving your cigars. A question immediately sprang to mind: can anyone name some examples of cigars that have that grassy, sweet cream note? I ADORE that flavor, but Cohibas are expensive. I have a box of Siglo III, but I really don't want to burn through those quickly. Everyone says they're magical at the 7-10 year mark, so I'll bide my time. Cohiba shorts can stand in here and there, but I'd really love some more sticks with some grass to em. Cheers y'all 2
SonicStag Posted March 14 Posted March 14 OMG Bam, yet again never fails to bring true entertainment value to this podcast. Yet another accountability hour, you total cheap skate. Handkerchiefs should be banned, they’re totally disgusting & just exactly how do tissues fall apart on you? When you had babies did you use reusable nappies? Or disposable nappies?

I like Abuelo 12 (and the Cuban rums) because they are a sweeter, lower ABV contrast to the Barbados/Martinique rums that I also enjoy. I can only drink so much +55% ABV Trois Rivières or Foursquare before my sense of taste gets blown out. 5
