Do tubos affect the look of a cigar wrapper over time?

I’m curious if anyone has noticed subtle visual differences in Cuban cigars stored in tubos versus cigars stored freely in a box. Specifically, do things like wrapper shading, sheen, or vein patterns develop or appear differently over time depending on whether the cigar is confined in a tube or not?

I haven’t noticed any significant differences. The main thing I’ve noticed is how near perfect they are being so well protected. Other than that they look pretty much the same as SLB cigars.

One thing I have noticed is that a lot of the times, the cigar band, because of the trapped moisture, will go almost green if the band were gold at one point. I have had some of the cigars tend to get darker at 20 years plus!

If they do it’s because the cigar was too wet or too dry before going into the tubo (or back into the tubo) and didn’t have a chance to properly settle. So the tubo itself can allow for this to happen, but the thing that causes the physical changes in the leaf is water movement inside the cigar.
