Cold draw is very vegetal, a little rough barnyard, some honey on the back. Probably one of the bumpiest wrappers I’ve seen on a Siglo, but this one has been around awhile, and I’m pretty sure I dropped this and some of its siblings a few years ago. Some battle scars. Excellent color, though, on the dark side of peanut butter brown. The aroma off the wrapper is lovely cedar and damp earth.

Light-up puff is glorious. Honey, graham, back-room mahogany, and loads of baking spice. Going on, sourdough toast with cinnamon honey, and loads of cream in the texture.

This is evolving the way a Siglo should, showing some dark dessert vibes mixed with graham cracker and spice sweetness.

Second third shows me hints of peach, fruitcake, more than a little mushroom, and more stellar honey and baking spices. Traces of bitterness here and there, as I’m having trouble taking it slow with this delicious stick. All is healed past the midpoint. Great notes of bright coffee, rum raisin, forest floor, and cranberry.

Last third is more in the baking spice/nougat region. A bit of Snickers bar, and maybe some butterscotch pie. Creamy as ever, strength just above medium. Finishes with some star anise, a bit of oak smoke, and delicious soft leather. Always a delight, the Siglo IV.
