Popular Post Capn_Jackson Posted 7 hours ago Popular Post Posted 7 hours ago Another Christmas comes, and I reach for the trusty BBF, but that’s not the only thing I’m smoking. Got a prime rib in the smoke cabinet for family. Full disclosure, I forgot to take a pic of the cigar, but I did get one of the roast! Cold draw is delicious graham cracker and ginger, some faint barnyard. Light-up puff is holiday cake heaven, and some stout around the edges. First third is mostly dominated by some nuttiness, creamy stout, and whisps of raisin around the edges. A little bit of barnyard funk, just enough. Antique store mustiness comes in, old leather, grandpa’s shaving kit. Second third is more of the gingerbread, notes of leather here and there, and honeyed Graham cracker. Extremely creamy texture. Some anise coming in a little earlier than usual, around the midpoint, but it’s giving me awesome fruitcake and holiday spice vibes. There is a bit of a dull moment right before the last third, or it could be I’m distracted, tending to the roast. Either way, the last third comes in with a vengeance, more leather, more ginger, more cream, and finally some great citrus crème. I love my BBF’s, and this one was great, minus a brief hiatus in flavor after the midpoint. I hope you all got to smoke something extraordinary this Christmas, whether it was a roast or a cigar! 6
