Popular Post 03Hemi Posted December 8, 2025 Popular Post Posted December 8, 2025 I've shared a few images of my home lounge I started building in the summer, but thought I'd share the whole story. This is my Medieval Cigar Lounge I'm currently working on, my buddies have lounges at their houses, but nothing like mine. I've built everything myself and have been actively purchasing my furniture, art and decor ahead of time so I can hit the ground running when I'm done. There will be a state of the art evacuation system in the ceiling for the smoke and I'll run an Ozonizer after each smoke to rid the room of the stale smoke smell. My 200+lb. door I built: Finished with my faux stone and aging I completed. That really cool lantern: Completed entrance after aging. Weathering & aging completed for the lounge - Imgur (1).mp4 Inside: My 17th century Rim Lock off a Medieval church in England. For scale: Looking down the stairwell from top landing with illuminated cubbies in process, all walls will be the faux stone. Interior will be Medieval 1920's Gentlemens Club in Dark Academia. As you can see, I'm already buying my furnishings and will just cover it and move it from side to side as I finish the room. The flooring will resemble my stairs coming up. Looking up from the bottom landing. Peering through the half wall at the top of the stairs. Room is 28' feet long. All my seating is complete, 1920's leather club seating and purchasing tables and accoutrements now. The walls will be wainscotting on the side and the end wall with the window will be floor to ceiling wall to wall bookcase with a window seat. I have more not pictured, but you get the idea. I welcome comments/criticism and any suggestions. More to come... 6
Mike Mecklenburg Posted December 8, 2025 Posted December 8, 2025 Love the medieval concept and door. With your woodworking talent any thoughts about a built-in humidor? 1
HoyoDC Posted December 9, 2025 Posted December 9, 2025 Wow, love the details and dedication. Maybe some cigars art or historic cigar pics would awesome too. A custom carpet with your favorite cigar. And center a bar with antique mirror to and nice cabinets. Send us photos when it's all done. 2 1

Coolidor I bought that will be set in the wall at the top of the stairs, looking up will be what you see coming up. 2

Love the thought, but no cigar ephemera in the room at all. Think 1920's French gentlemen's club with a medieval twist done in dark academia. Only thing cigars will be tools, ashtrays and my built-in humidor. staying away from your "quintessential" cigar lounge look, want more of a mens study feel. I'll keep y'all updated. 6 hours ago, HoyoDC said: And center a bar with antique mirror to and nice cabinets. Send us photos when all done Absolutely, there will be a whisky bar and beer fridge at the opposite end where the half wall is, the end wall behind that will be like my entrance, faux stone to the ceiling with a 85" TV mounted and a mini-split HVAC unit above that. Wiring is already done for it. 6 hours ago, HoyoDC said: A custom carpet with your favorite cigar A 12'X14' antique rug in reds, greens and browns in the center to ground the furniture and a zebra skin rug in front of the bar area behind the chairs by the half wall. 3
03Hemi Posted December 9, 2025 Author Posted December 9, 2025 Above the wainscotting on the side walls will display various knights helmets and some other artwork I've collected and will be displayed around the room with accent lighting, Medieval themed of course. Always wanted this as a kid, but couldn't afford it back then, but Frank Frezetta's "Death Dealer" this massive statue will be displayed on the pedestal you see in one of the pictures on an electric rotating turn table. This is the bookcase I built in my den, I'll duplicate one (different color) on the end wall around the window for my antique books I collect too. This bookcase actually has a hidden door that opens to a panic/gun room. The hidden latch is located somewhere else in the room so unless you know its location you'd never be able to open it. 2
03Hemi Posted January 2 Author Posted January 2 Quick update... Just insulation and dry wall at this point, but I did order my smoke "evacuation" system. Based on the size of my room the entire CFM (cubic feet per minute) volume will be exchanged 25+ times per hour (probably higher because I rounded up on room dimensions). My buddies are using the AC Infinity 8" system with great results, so I went with them as well, but went 10". 1

My buddies are running the 8" system and with up to 10 people in their rooms there was zero smoke running it on high. This should suffice, it's 10" and rated @1,200 CFM and from the research I've found people running them actually measure better results than advertised. Finishing up with the hidden "mechanicals" for the room right now, pulled wires for the sound system, additional accent lighting for the walls and ceiling and the evac system and ducting that finally arrived before all the sheetrock goes up. Of course, more Medieval helmets and decrative adornments trickle in.
