La Trova Dud or Fake

Recently picked up a box of the La Trovas, everything from the bands and packaging looks fine, but when it smoked horrendously. Didn't even taste like a cuban. Has anyone had any familiar experiences?

In relation to your box of La Trovas, it comes down to a few things. 

• We assume your source is trustworthy. Naming sources here is not permitted but good sources and dubious ones are well known. Let us know what you paid for it and from which part of the world you picked it up. Licensed dealer?(LCDH/Habanos specialist), grey market? Beach in Mexico? Paint the scene without revealing specific vendor. 
• How long did you let them rest after receiving them? Smoking one ROTT if travel was involved can lead to a very poor experience.
