Global mail carriers suspend US shipments

Bringing members up to speed and for the few of you in the US not aware 

Global mail carriers suspended parcel deliveries to the US in the face of uncertainty over new duties on low-cost packages.

US President Donald Trump last month ordered the end of the “de minimis” provision, which allowed goods valued under $800 to enter the US duty-free.

Unfortunately, no logistics system has been put in place by the US administration at this time in relation to how the tariff/tax is collected/paid, documents lodged. The world was given 30 days to comply as the executive order was issued 31st July for an August 29 implementation. 

Australia Post last pickup to the USA is late today. I assume it will remain closed for a few weeks until the CBP/Treasury muppets get a system in place. 

Thankfully Nudies/Desnudo/MOFHO remain unaffected

In short, Globel shippers have announced they are recommencing commercial shipments to the US from the end of this month. 

There is some devil in the detail however. Stay tuned.
