SonicStag Posted Wednesday at 09:08 PM Posted Wednesday at 09:08 PM Fantastic listen as usual, interesting to learn about Rum & additives, the French losing their minds banning smoking where kids are but not Vapes. 🤔 Cuban cigars are so expensive now but so too are many New World cigars, Arturo Fuente cigars & Padron are some of the most expensive New World cigars in the UK. I look forward to the pod to get ideas of what to go for to try to limit cash wastage. Padron never had an issue but at £50 plus for decent one their a treat, the 80th Maduro is £65 plus. Then you have AF Opus X £50 plus & having had quite a few let downs with Fuente already, I won’t chase them after listening to this episode. Would much rather pay the premium for Cuban tobacco that we have to pay & play Cuban roulette. 1
RKPStogie Posted Thursday at 07:00 PM Posted Thursday at 07:00 PM Agree with @SonicStag. Another amazing episode. IMHO the AF Anejo line blows Opus X out of the water. Hopefully the lizard crew will try it on the pod sometime. 1 1
El Niño Posted Thursday at 09:37 PM Posted Thursday at 09:37 PM Opus is truly one of the cigars of all time. 1

I know you've had a bit of a request for remaining mostly Cuban but I enjoy your forays into NC. Especially as I'm still hunting for a box of Opus DC which has been harder for me to come across than a box of Cohiba Lancero (never seen them in the wild or been able to buy one, whereas was able to get the Cohibas relatively easy). Would happily listen if CC coverage dropped off. 2 1
zaca Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Posted yesterday at 11:26 AM Great topic - thanks for sharing! Timely for me as I was just pondering some Opus X for variety this week (haven’t tried any yet)…so good food for thought. 1
Grimlock Posted yesterday at 07:49 PM Posted yesterday at 07:49 PM I guess I've been lucky and haven't run into the construction issues w/ Opus. The Oro Oscuro and Forbidden X lines hit a little bit better for me than the standard line. I find it comical how these are priced these days though. I see one online store that doubles the price and then runs 15-20% off sales like they are doing the consumer a favor, lol. I wouldn't give up on Opus yet, give the Forbidden X line a shot. They are definitely the strongest of the group. In the standard Opus line, the power ranger (XXX belicoso) punches way above its weight and is one of the most affordable at around 20 bucks. 1
