Popular Post ryre Posted April 12, 2025 Popular Post Posted April 12, 2025 Picked up three singles from an LCDH in February 2023—this was my first time smoking a Diplomáticos No. 2, I went in a bit nervous because this one had slight foot damage, was very heavy in the hand, and the middle third was rock hard. I was expecting either a blowout or a plugged draw. Thankfully, I was wrong. The draw was perfect. No resistance issues, and the burnline was sharp throughout. I’m not typically one to chase a long ash, but this one held on without any effort. Construction was excellent all the way through. The first third had minerality and nuttiness. Light-bodied. The second third evolved with a bit of citrus pith coming through, along with a subtle sweetness. The smoke had a creamy texture by this point. For the last third, pecans took over and the strength ramped up to a medium. A very enjoyable finish. This was a great cigar. Complex and balanced. Smoked for an hour and a half. Excited to see how the other two develop with a bit more age. I have a few others from 2024 too. I hope they are all this good. 92/100 16

ryre Posted April 13, 2025 Author Posted April 13, 2025 It goes without saying that I'm not thrilled about the recent price hike with my newfound love for these. Why couldn't I have tried one 6 months ago? Or six years ago, for that matter.
Jimmy2 Posted April 13, 2025 Posted April 13, 2025 Just insane what the cost was 5 + years ago until now...just madness. It still doesn’t make sense to me as they had to lose a lot of customers more than gained from insane price increases. 1
