Popular Post Pmo13 Posted July 6, 2024 Popular Post Posted July 6, 2024 Figured with the Celtics hanging banner number 18, what better stick to light up than Auerbachs favorite! Picked these up a few years back, for the now laughable price of $444 for a box and have been going through one or two a year to see how they age. Haven’t had one yet this year so here we go! Opened up with a surprisingly good draw (I sometimes have to double puff DCs to get them going, but didn't have to here) and a big cedar and sweet cream note. As we work down through the first third, the cedar note is replaced a bit by vanilla, which with the sweet cream is an excellent combo. Think the Starbucks sweet cream cold brew if you’ve had one before. Working into the second third a bit of a white pepper note joined the party, as well as the cedar popping back in a bit. The final third is where this stick shone, though. The vanilla note started to shift and became an extremely pronounced caramel. My usual toasted bread showed up as well, but more as a shortbread flavor. These ramped up and up all the way to the nub and I had absolutely no problem with that. To call this a dessert stick would be to call a California Redwood a sapling. Easy A- for this stick which I can only imagine will keep going up. 12
