Many Cubans struggle to get hold of milk and even children who are entitled to the subsidised rations have been going without

Cuba's government has for the first time asked the UN's food programme for help as food shortages on the Communist-run island worsen.

The World Food Programme (WFP) said it had received an unprecedented official request from the Cuban government for help providing powdered milk to children under seven years of age.

The request is a sign of the seriousness of Cuba's economic crisis.

Complete shambles to read stories like this but on the very next tab, there are insights and backslapping about all the activities around the Habanos festival. The dichotomy is insane. Would break your heart if you could think about it for long enough.

There’s something especially crushing about this kind of situation unfolding on an island which is objectively a natural paradise. 

Something’s gotta give at some point. However small, this is a step in the right direction. Help the world, help you.

Not a cent from the Habanos festival will go to the Cuban people. Perhaps it's time to boycott Habanos all together!!
