AllorNothing Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 As you may know, in Canada, CC are imported in green paper boxes which they can't be stored in without leaving a paper taste. What do you think of these wooden boxes I found online from Amazon and Uline? Both dimensions are ok and nearly all sized cigars. The one from amazon is cedar supposedly and the one from Uline is natural pine wood with a plywood top. 1. Amazon 2. Uline I don't mind price difference...
clone1008 Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 If those aren't Spanish Cedar they will not be good. I know in America Facebook has "Marketplace" and there are tons of used cigar boxes for sale. I don't know if Canada has that or not.

I didn't think this would have a huge impact on storage.

MagicalBikeRide Posted February 25, 2024 Posted February 25, 2024 On top of above, I’d be nervous that they contain glues and will need time to off-gas. Old cigars boxes are the way I’d go. Drop me a PM if you’re struggling locally and I can let you know a supplier in the UK that may ship some to you. They will be ~$5 a box plus shipping. 1
AllorNothing Posted February 25, 2024 Author Posted February 25, 2024 I'm thinking as a fun project, I will just create my own custom cedar boxes using material from here. Probably the best route... could customize dimensions to fit humidor optimally.

You can also buy acrylic in the specific sizes you want or buy bigger and bend into a box. You could assemble a box in literally 5mins. Also if Spanish cedar is difficult to come by you can use mahogany as Spanish cedar isn't really cedar at all.
