Popular Post Pmo13 Posted February 20, 2024 Popular Post Posted February 20, 2024 Been on a CC kick recently, so figured it was not only time to switch that up. But why stop there? Why not try something new entirely? So that’s exactly what I did. Picked up a pair of these in this year’s TAA shark packs along with a pair of identical (in shape) OpusX Sharks. I’ve had burn issues with this shape before, as I think is relatively common with box pressed sticks. That thankfully was not something I encountered here. However, another all to common issue with belicosos/torpedo tips showed up, and that was a bad, bad draw. As luck would have it, I finally remembered to bring out my PerfecrDraw and voila, problem solved! The opening to this stick was a big, big sweet tobacco note, along with a bit of black pepper (the absence of this is one of my favorite CC qualities) on the retro, not not too much. Over the course of the first third, this black pepper thankfully transitioned to more of a red pepper/baking spice note which was very pleasant. On the approach to the second third, two notes that would come to dominate the rest of the stick came into view: dark chocolate and almonds. The second third could best be described as a chocolate sundae. Tons of chocolate, vanilla and dark fruit sweetness owned the profile for the entire third and that’s in no way, shape or form a bad thing. Absolutely delicious. The final third switched things up on me a bit. That dark chocolate note turned into a short of fudgy-tootsie roll deal. Another note I typically associate with the final third of sticks also made an appearance, that of burnt/nearly burnt toast. One curveball I got at the end which might be a first for me, was a cola note. Super out of left field, but I gotta say, I think I’ll be chasing that note for a long time as it was very nice. Final burn time was 90 minutes and smoke output/burn were both exceptional. I’d give this smoke a solid A-/A. 9
