Popular Post Grimlock Posted December 26, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 26, 2023 Straight cut. Wrapper and foot smell of faint barnyard. Light cocoa and wheat bread on the cold draw. 1/3 Initial notes of sweet herbal tea and wood. Light spice note on the retro. A few more puffs in and citrus starts mixing in on the retro. The draw is perfect and the burn line straight. Overall the cigar has a somewhat rustic appearance and is fairly bumpy. Halfway through the first third, those initial tea notes are gone, replaced by wheat toast with cedar mixing in. These notes continue through the end of the first third. 2/3 no major changes initially. There is a very faint floral note apparent on the retro every now and then, the light spice is still present. I'm starting to pick up a distinct cinnamon note. Spice starts to ramp up a bit. The overall flavor profile at this point is spicy cinnamon toast. This has been the most enjoyable part of the cigar so far. This is my first of the Anejados line, I wasn't sure what to expect. This stick came as a bundle of tubos from 24:24 back in June. At the 1:05 mark the burn line is a half inch short of the first band. 3/3 the cinnamon notes starts trail off a bit allowing the cedar to move to the front. Approaching the first band the burn line gets a bit off requiring a small touch up to straighten things out. Conditions outside are 45F with a slight breeze. I'm getting by with the electric heater, although the propane heater keeps tempting me. The churchill band comes off at the 1:20 mark along with a piece of the wrapper. The cinnamon note continues to linger in the background behind the woody note. Overall this is a solid smoke that I feel needs to be smoked as slow as possible to get the most out of it. The first inch with the brief tea notes and the second half with the heavy cinnamon were outstanding. The burn straightened itself out as it got past the damaged wrapper. I set the nub down right at the 1:45 mark. Solid 92. 6
