Popular Post Tunkat92 Posted December 15, 2023 Popular Post Posted December 15, 2023 Cold Draw/ Initial Thoughts: I used a straight cut since I’ve had zero draw issues with this box. Like its brethren, the draw was perfect. The cold draw was toasty and slightly sweet but very weak. 1/3: The initial puff was graham cracker and a light toasty nut. The distinct and unique HU breadiness was present along with along with sweet spice. A beautiful creaminess brought it all together. Very subtle notes but definitely felt rich enough to be satisfying. 2/3: Not a whole lot of change, but a fruity note that reminds me of melon came into play, which kept me interested. 3/3: The fruit note is taking a front stage and getting more complex. Its distinctly melon but I cannot lay a finger on what else it reminds me of. The slight sweetness is rounded out with a toasty note and breadiness. The smoke has a satisfying mouthfeel that left me feeling satisfied. Final Thoughts: 95 points. Just a great cigar, I wish every Mag 50 performed like this box. 13
hrs1 Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 Love these when the fruity note shines through - great review!
Sandman Posted December 17, 2023 Posted December 17, 2023 This is one Upmann that I’ve never loved. I’ve smoked about 3 total boxes since they came out, and I did own OR boxes, but it always left me unsatisfied. Last box for me that I tried was 2018 and gave up. Connie B is 10 times the cigar in my opinion. I think for me, the blend seems too light for my palate. Thanks for the review, it does sound nice though.
