Popular Post saltbox Posted October 25, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 25, 2022 Was planning on setting aside some time for a rare longer smoke (churchill) later in the day, but happened to have some time to squeeze in a shorter lighter smoke so it seemed like a good opportunity for a Reyes (Rey?). First third: Starts off unbelievably plugged on the cold draw. I use the PerfecDraw a bit but realize the plug seems to be close to the end of the cigar, so decide to see if I can power through and smoke through the plug instead. Opens with a creamy coffee, buttery pastry, and a touch of brown sugar sweetness. Like smoking a freshly fried donut. The plug does indeed burn through and the rest of the cigar smokes just fine. Middle third: Picks up some richness. Almond nuttiness. The pastry flavors become a bit darker and richer. Last third: Flavor down to the nub. Creamy pastry, donut, milky coffee. Overall: Trinidad Reyes are probably my favorite short smoke, though maybe I just look forward to them more than others like Party Shorts, etc, because I smoke them less frequently. 90/100 8
