Popular Post PuroDiario Posted October 24, 2022 Popular Post Posted October 24, 2022 I decided to pop this box open taking advantage of the review weekend and leave the office early today for some me time with a now tough to justify pricey cigar. I dropped by the neighborhood lounge and put on Alcaraz’s game against Draper. Good set up. Two days of dry boxing for Cold aromas of dry wood, nuts and milky bread. I cut too much beyond the cap and lit it up with a couple of good matches. Imperfect lighting too. Overall a rougher more rustic than usual wrapper but can tell is well constructed on touch. first third: great draw and construction. Very toothy ash. Cold aromas still there adding some notes of hay and short bread. Uneven burn due to my bad lighting but nothing annoying. Very smooth and flavorful. Great so far. second third: toasted almonds with some saltiness to it beyond previous examples. Very buttery and bready, almost milky. Notes of light coffee and wood. Strong smoke production. Notch up in strength but still light-medium some spice build up. I am engaged. Burn is self correcting but does not as I damaged the wrapper trying to take off the band. third third: spiced up and earthier. Fuller up to medium. Roasted coffee and wood dominate. There is a salted coating in the palate after each puff like salted butter. Touched it up a bit and burn now good. Need to smoke slowly here as it heats up easily. Grassier as I nub it. Great cigar overall. I think I will smoke this box before the 4 year mark starting heavy on the three year anniversary. 91 points. 7
