Popular Post gormag38
ANOTHER CoRo review for the competition. 🙃 This is from a 5X3 15 pk and have been kept out of the cardboard since receiving. I smoked 2 within 60 days of receiving them and thought they were kind of 'meh' for the talk I hear. I decided then to wait a while before delving back in. This one was about a year + since my last. 1/3 The draw is much better than the previous two I've had from this box. No need for a perfect draw, the smoke is plenty. The first notes that I pick up on are herbal grass and hay. Not as grass pronounced my other examples but definitely there. After the first 1/2" or so I start to notice a tea note starts to take over. It's quite lovely so far. 2/3 The herbal flavors continue in the second third with the tea flavors beginning to take full and total control. There is an occasional sweetness that I pick up which complimented the herbal notes (almost like tea with honey) but it's inconsistent and doesn't last long. So far it's been a one trick pony of tea and little transitions. The burn goes out towards the end of this third and with a relight comes some harshness, but thankfully it doesn't last. 3/3 Must've hit a tighter section of the cigar, because the smoke isn't pouring out anymore. I have to give it a couple pokes with the perfect draw and that helps a little. Again, herbal tea is the most predominant flavor with some slight baking spice coming in. Still no widely noticeable differences while smoking this stick. Overall these are much better than what they were a year ago but still leave me wanting/expecting more. The flavors that were there were lovely; in particular the honey with tea in the second third. However, I just want more complexity and transitions when I smoke a cigar and these clearly aren't there yet, as the tea flavor pretty much dominated in all thirds. I know that it has been said that CoRo's during this time period can often be inconsistent and take a good 5+ years to round into form. That makes a lot of sense to me after smoking this. 90/100
