Popular Post joeruby Posted July 4, 2022 Popular Post Posted July 4, 2022 First up I think this cigar is aptly named, it’s easy for it to become a ‘favourite’ cigar on many levels. It’s certainly mine. QF’s are always consistent, affordable and obtainable. They are always well rolled and constructed (never had a plugged one) short filler robusto, slightly shorter than the standard robusto size. Mild to medium in strength lots of velvety smoke, true burn, and guaranteed to never surprise you, but if it does, it will definitely be to the upside.. Winter here in Melbourne, and it’s a great size cigar for this time of year. No point dividing this review into thirds as the Flavour is consistent from start to finish. Cedar, wood, toasty tobacco, leather, occasional slight floral hints for sweetness, but overall smooth mellow taste from start to finish. It’s never been peppery for me, which is a profile I don’t really care for. QF’s all tend to be like this for me, so to score this one out of 100 would have no real relevance. QF’s helped me develop my cigar tastebuds by having many at the beginning of my cigar journey and learning the flavour profile so well, then once you try a Monte, Partagas, HDM, Cohiba, etc. the flavours of those cigars really hit you in comparison. I can recommend newbie’s confused with isolating flavours in Cuban cigars train their palate this way, as it does work. Some call QF a yardgar, but for me it’s way better than that. There is a time to sit down and analyse a good cigar, and then there is also a time to just relax and enjoy a Quintero Favorito for what it is, Cuban goodness at value for money price. 14 1
RmB Posted July 4, 2022 Posted July 4, 2022 I'm a big fan. And agreed, I've had all sorts of cigars at all sorts of price disappoint me over the years for various reasons. Nothing worse than sitting down away from home somewhere and finding you have a plugged cigar. I never worry about that with these guys, very reliable and hopefully I can get some more soon. They won't win any prizes for looks but who cares 🙂 1
