Popular Post treberty Posted June 20, 2022 Popular Post Posted June 20, 2022 Tonight I went for the new release of Tatuaje La Riqueza. Used to love that line in the early 2010s, so when I saw that it was available again on a recent trip to Boston I bought a single of the SE. Maduro, dry looking wrapper. Because it is box pressed it doesn't feel like a 54 rgb, which is a good thing. Construction feels perfect. First third: Earthy notes, coffee is very present (like a strong espresso). Some cocoa as we get into the 2nd third. Very pleasant. Good draw, as expected. Less kick then what I remembered (I expected it to be much stronger, that said I mostly smoked the petite coronas from that line before tonight). Second third: Clearly not as strong as I recalled, but great cigar nonetheless. Still lots of earth and coffee notes, with hints of leather. Burning like a champ. Last third: Getting stronger, more leather, still earthy and pleasant smoke . Hints of cocoa. Will look for a box for sure. So different than CCs, but in a good way, imo - can't think of any equivalent in the Cuban world. I'd give this cigar 90-92 points overall. Paired with a Weller. 11
JLH Posted June 21, 2022 Posted June 21, 2022 Thanks for the write up. I have a few of these but haven't got around to smoking one. Looking forward to it. Jason
