Trinidad Vigia – 2018 (FRCSW2)

 

Singles from PCC, cannot remember the box code but it is from 2018.

 

Not my favorite vitola but i have yet to have a bad Trini so all is forgiven

Drydraw is airtunnel but once lit, it firms up right at my sweetspot.

 

Strong burst of spice in the beginning, cloves, pepper, cinnamon and a very nice milk chocolate and Vanilla creme on the midpalate and aftertaste. This is very lovely. Retro is strong spice with a pleasant bite, and the mouth is more coffee and milkchocolate. Medium+ body , I am loving this right now. A hint of youth with a slight grassy note in there somewhere, but it is nicely balanced and no harshness. Burn and Construction just perfect.

 

Halfway: Rich and creamy with mouthcoating smoke output. Sweet milkchocolate and more dry coffee notes interact nicely in a complex flavor combination. Retro still very spicy and peppery which i dont mind at all.

 

Close. Now it seems more youthfull on the palate. The sweetness is gone and there is dry Black coffee and dusty gravelly earth tones. Interestingly, retro has developed into much smoother and creamy notes, spice is gone and instead there is creamy ceader and leather.  Think this will improve with age, but still a very nice stick at this point. The first half is definately the star here but it is very enjoyable throughout.

 

91 points at this stage and once it comes together a bit more, i think it can go a few points higher
