Popular Post djrey Posted October 19, 2020 Popular Post Posted October 19, 2020 Partagas Shorts GEO MAY 14 Dry Review: It’s been a joy reading everyone’s reviews this week. I went with a staple in my humidor that I have smoked more of than any other cigar. Any changes from the water should stand out on my palate. My non water treated cigar is being smoked at 64% humidity straight from the humidor. Firm draw but perfect for me. We open with classic Partagas. Sourdough in droves complimented by some paprika. Second half has the same core flavors but now complimented with some cedar notes and a touch of cinnamon. Cigar ends a bit hot and spicy. Overall a very smooth creamy smoke that had zero burn issues. -92 pts. Very much looking forward to the wet version later today! Partagas Shorts GEO MAY 14 Wet Review: Felt strange sipping a cigar in water. I took off the band so water didn’t get under and cause a totally soaked section. A few seconds in an I found it surprising how the water beaded up. I rubbed in some of this then towel dried. First thing I noticed is how much more smooth the flavors have become. This is both good and bad. The cigar lost some of its sour dough pop that I enjoy but the creamy texture is nice. It seems a bit richer, almost a Burt caramelized flavor. Burn revealed a very ugly dark flakey ash that requires numerous touch ups. Overall an interesting experiment. Burn issues aside I can’t say one was better than the other. Just different experiences. I can see myself making this a habit but if I run into dry cigar I’ll give it a dunk. Why not? 92 pts. 5
