Meklown Posted October 5, 2020 Posted October 5, 2020 RASS has become my choice of daily robusto this year, overtaking HdM2. I love that it has a bigger body and is tastier. I've gone through this box rather quickly - maybe 10 sticks left out if the 25 - but since I scored a 50 cab last week, I figured I can continue to blaze through this box. No box code cause I transferred all the remaining sticks to the dry box and tossed the box (dress box). Upon cutting, I spot something weird with this cigar. There's a weird light coloured centre to it, and I immediately become afraid. It is solid to the touch so the worry is that it is plugged. A quick draw indicates that it doesn't present a problem, so that's good. In fact, the draw is pretty much perfect. I guess this is a stem rolled into the cigar. Cold draw tastes of chocolate and baking spices. Upon lighting, draw is still perfect and tastes of the same. First third is marked by chocolate and some earthiness. RASS is known to have stewed fruit goodness but it hasn't really been present in this box. I still love this earthy chocolatey profile though. There is also some baking spice to complement. Second third continues on the same profile with minimal change. This reminds me of Fat Duck's "edible soil". For those unaware, Fat Duck used to be ranked high in the world's best restaurants lists. I've had the pleasure to dine there several times and for me, that was the epitome of dining experiences, where it was the true experience of dining with all 5 senses. Final third continued on the same taste profile. Almost no variation, but that's fine with me. Draw stayed consistently good throughout, with slight inconsistencies with burn that didn't need any touchups until the very end. Touched it up to nub it. Overall, a good cigar for a Monday night. 82/100. 4
