Meklown Posted August 28, 2020 Posted August 28, 2020 Friday afternoon, 1:44pm, and my boss needs 2 powerpoints submitted to him by around 4:00pm. We're still working from home but with new daily cases dropping to single digits in the past week, I suspect we will be back in office soon. In order to help me power through these 2 ppts, and to take advantage of the last of the wfh period (for now - though hopefully we have no more reason to lockdown again), I shall have a post-lunch Monte 4. I have absolutely been powering through this box. I think I have had it open for less than 2 months but I am down to around 10 sticks. Sticks from this box haven't been particularly fantastic but it's been what I've been grabbing if there is nothing particular that I want to smoke. General taste profile from this box has been relatively bitter chocolate/coffee/woody flavours. Wrapper is a little rough and has a few obvious veins Cold draw: Dry boxed well, draw pretty much the way I like. Chocolate and cream. Not a lot going on here, but I suppose that's expected. 1st 3rd: Right, about to get into my ppts so I may not have full attention on the cigar. Nevertheless, some woody chocolates going on here. The burn is immediately ripping down one of the veins. I suspect the veins have dried faster than the rest of the leaf, hence it has that crumpled look. Making the burn a little wonky. Nice with some zest. Burn is starting to self correct even though I am smoking particularly slowly. Oops, the fire has gone out. First relight. 2nd 3rd: I've not been noticing much taste difference. The previous examples out of this box didn't have too much evolution either, so it's probably not because I'm distracted by my work. 3rd 3rd: Right, that was a period of total focus on work. I put the cigar down for quite a long time. Lighting up the final 3rd now - wait, remove the label first. The woody flavour is gone, taken over by the cream and chocolate now. Almost burning my fingers. Time to set it down permanently. Overall: 4:08pm, with many long breaks in between. Solid 82/100 cigar, great for a simple smoke, while not being a top-tier cigar where I feel that I need to focus on appreciating its flavours. Right, I still have 1 set of slides that I'm working on.. Back to work .... 1 3
