Popular Post Happy2BeHere Posted August 14, 2020 Popular Post Posted August 14, 2020 No matter how many times we’re told that we gotta let the cigars age, sometimes we just gotta try something as soon as we get our hands on it. Hence, my first Monte Petit Edmundo. Starting off there’s a faint smell of chocolate on the wrapper before lighting. Upon doing my straight cut, the cigar sort of “pinched up” with the cut rather than the top of the cap popping off, which made me fear that this was the first sign of the Dreaded Cuban Too Tight Draw, perhaps due to overhumidification. However, the draw remained effortless throughout. First thing I notice is the ample smoke output. It takes me a little while to really pick up anything from this cigar while I also fought to keep it lit. I tend to like smaller gauge for their taste & I think I come at CCs immediately looking for the Grass, the Game Meat, & the Buttery tastes that drew me to CCs. I’m only finding that occasionally in this. Much more unsweetened cocoa powder, black espresso, and a “warm” taste, like cinnamon maybe, but seems a bit muted. My curiosity & need for a CC satisfied as it gets to be for now, I’m happy to put the other Monte Petit Edumundo away for a while & revisit it in the months or a year to come. Definitely not this cigar’s full potential, but any night spent enjoying a CC for a little over an hour & a half is a win for me! 5
