Popular Post havanaclub Posted May 11, 2020 Popular Post Posted May 11, 2020 Today I decided to make some ribs in the slow cooker instead of on the grill. I did a dry rub and let them rest overnight in the fridge. My wife and son love ribs and mashed potatoes so I thought it would be nice to make on Mother’s Day. I also made a NY style raspberry lemon cheesecake, another one of my wife’s favourites. We went with an Argentinian Malbec for dinner. The ribs had a reduced Cajun bbq maple sauce with roasted garlic mashed and bean salad. After dinner I had a craving for some chocolate and coffee so I went with a Monte No.4. This was from a clearance 19 box and they have been on the stronger side for a monte No4 with great construction and consistency so far. They aren’t super dark or oily, but have a smooth Colorado wrapper. I paired the Monte 4 with a coffee stout. The draw was on the open side that produced volumes of smoke. 1st: cocoa powder, milk coffee, straight medium. 2nd: the strength picked up to a medium plus with a bit of pepper and darker notes of chocolate and dark coffee. 3rd: the burn and construction was top notch with not much more of a transition from the 2nd third. Was trying to pick out some of the citrus twang that some get from the No4 but I didn’t get any. This was a very enjoyable cigar that I would rate a 91. It was a nice ending to a great Mother’s Day. I think with time the strength will subside and bring a little more balance to this cigar. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 12
