Popular Post Silverstix Posted April 6, 2020 Popular Post Posted April 6, 2020 I have very little experience with the #2. Yes I’ve smoked them before, some good some not so good, just like any other cigar. Obviously the #2 is a classic cigar so when I saw these come up on the PCC Aged sale, I sprung for a 6’er. A great looking cigar, construction is on point. After a small clip of the cap, the draw is just perfect. Very strong aroma of sweet tobacco and spices. There is a little bit of a slow start, something I’ve noticed with a bunch of other Montecristo. It takes about 1/2” before any flavor shows up. When it does it comes on slowly, some faint cocoa powder but mainly a smoooooth sweet tobacco. The flavor would come on more as the cigar burned, but it still has moments where it’s not really doing much. Pleasant and smooth? Absolutely. But full flavored? Not quite. The 2/3 of this cigar was great as things really started to develop and more flavor came into the picture. Classic Montecristo - cocoa powder, hay, some baking spices, natural tobacco. The 3/3 was a continuation of the same as above. Got a little rough as I moved through this final part of the cigar, couldn’t smoke it down as far as I wanted to. Draw is great. One touch-up required on the burn. Overall construction is top notch. 1/3 = B2/3 = A3/3 = B+ Smoke time: 90 minutes Overall: 92 Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk 5
CptGoodTimes Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 I did the same on these. Grabbed a 1/4 box. Only 2 have even reached a 90. Rest were blah. Disappointing. 1
Goodfortune Posted April 6, 2020 Posted April 6, 2020 Nice review and pictures! I’m 20 minutes into a Monte 2 REG JUN 2018, off to a bit of a slow start as well. 1

Ya know, on flavor alone it’s probably an 88-89. That 1/3 just took forever to get going. But as a whole experience - I gave it a little higher score cause it was just an effortless smoke in the sense that I didn’t have to babysit the burn line, puff too frequently or smoke it too slow cause of a poor draw.
