pelicanesq Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 A sad day for the city of New Orleans and jazz lovers worldwide. I’ll light one up for him and the many others we have lost once this is all over.
Guest Nekhyludov Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 It's depressing as hell to think that the man who taught, mentored, trained, and raised two entire generations of jazz musicians won't even get a proper second line. I can only imagine that when public gatherings are allowed again, it's gonna be one hell of a parade from Mater Dolorosa up through Carrollton.
Deeg Posted April 3, 2020 Posted April 3, 2020 Meanwhile Adam Schlesinger (Fountains of Wayne, composer of "That Thing You Do") had also died of COVID-19. And John Prine, one of the greatest singer-songwriters of any era, is in critical condition. It's a very sad time.
