Cohiba Robusto BMP OCT 16 (SMRW)

My favourite robusto hands down and decided to grab one from my 16 cab.

 

I reviewed a 19 CoRo back in January which was very good, and smoked a UAO 19 a few weeks back so it was good to compare to my 16s.

 

Densely packed, a shade above Colorado, this was a PE box I got from Prez. A rating I haven’t seen in a while. Aroma was cedar and leather at cold.

 

 

 

1st: draw and construction was top notch. Cedar, light notes of hay but I was getting coffee notes, maybe espresso. Medium body.

 

2nd: honey sweetness coming in with a touch of citrus on the finish. Towards the end of the 2nd third there was a nice transition to some leather and graham cracker notes.

 

3rd: burn was still very good but required a minor touch up. Got some honey, and a pleasant pepper on the tip of the tongue on the finish.

 

Rated 93

 

The difference between the 19s and the 16 imo was complexity and a much better final third.
