Maskas Posted March 29, 2020 Posted March 29, 2020 Today I grabbed the last of the singles from a friend of mine. Another cigar I have not tried before, and today was the perfect day. It’s my youngest daughters birthday today and she wanted to go walking around the lake. Don’t worry, we practiced social distancing and didn’t touch a thing while wandering around the empty walking trail. Draw was incredibly stiff, should have brought the perfec draw. Poked it with a toothpick and it kinda helped but not really. Forgot to take more than one or two pics because honestly this thing was a struggle from the start. Initial flavors were some black pepper spice, maybe some cinnamon if I really struggled to describe it, and just loads of dirt. Straight up hand full of dirt. Every puff. Smoke output is barely anything because of the tight draw and the burn has a mind of its own. By the time I took the pic I think I touched it up 3 or 4 times. Continued to struggle on but by now it was more dirt with black pepper sprinkled in. No clue what’s going on but this is the first Cuban I’ve had that I do not like...at all. Maybe the super tight draw muted the flavors or the low smoke output, not sure but this thing unfortunately was no good. Made it this much further and put it out of its misery. Or my misery haha. 3/10 for this particular stick, I’d smoke another if given one but only to see if it’s the same or if this was just a crappy example. It’s a shame, I lit a petit Edmundo for this review last night (yes I know, petit Robusto not quite Robusto haha) and it’s the 3rd one in a row from the box I have that has fireproof wrappers. I let it dry box for the whole week and still didn’t make it 1/4” in before it was tunnel city and the wrapper refused to burn or be touched up. Oh well, life is hard sometimes haha. 2
