Popular Post Maskas Posted March 9, 2020 Popular Post Posted March 9, 2020 Time to break out the aged sticks. I have two D4's from a 2014 box I acquired as singles. Sacrificed one for this review weekend plus I wanted something a bit stronger while I did some mindless mill work in the shop. First light I get a blast of that signature Partagas flavor. Delicious. Sourdough is strong with this one. Some nice light spice and a slightly nutty aftertaste. Wonderful aroma fills the shop, I love D4's and this one is off to a great start. Flavors continue in the same way through the first third. Great draw on this stick. Second third brings in some coffee, let's say espresso, and the same base flavors as the first third. Sourdough and spice, espresso all the way through. Again, delicious. Spice picks up towards the end of the second third which is just fine with me. Final third let the coffee shine. Toasty bread now, coffee and spice. Towards the nub I got some hints of butter and spicy cedar. Obviously I nubbed it as it was delicious. If only I will have the patience to age my 2019 box this long...yeah right lol. 9/10 - disclaimer I love D4's but this was a really good example and fit the bill nicely for the night. 7
