Benson Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Hey gents, getting geared up for the game even though it feels odd to not have my Patriots involved. These Petit Edmundos have been smoking a lot better for me with a half year acclimation to my humidor, right off the bat they had a bit of mongrel and bitterness to them. Starting up, easy open draw, medium body earthy, leathery, notes that I wouldn’t quite call chocolate. I always use the term “alkali” to refer to these flavors that aren’t quite coffee, aren’t quite baking chocolate, but both of those flavors share this “thing.” I’m sure that isn’t quite the right terminology but it works in my head. Funny stuff, this gustatory exploration. This was a short little guy so not too much change in the first two thirds. Last third just brought an expected filling out and intensified flavors, with the addition of a strong cedar undertone that hadn’t been noticeable before. Paired with a delicious craft Pilsner from Maine, not a great beer to pair with this med-full bodied cigar but it was my game day pick. Great cereal/fresh bread with light hop notes. Perfect for a former craft beer snob who is slowly gravitating towards lighter beers. These are great with HdM Epi 2 or Trini Vigia in the summer.
