Happy New Year FOH! ?

Just acquired this box 35 days ago.  I’ve tried several RyJs. Wide C, Short C, Ex4, Mill Fleurs, but never the flagship of the marca.  I’m still chasing that ? BANG! 

Without further adieu,  I give you box ASO NOV16.  

These look and smell amazing with just over 3yrs of age on them. Aroma is sweet & tangy tobacco.  Has a firm feel between the fingers & looks to be nicely filled.  So, I took one out for some good times today.

Opening remarks:   Begins nice and smooth.  Below medium in strength.  Some nice creamy cedar & plenty of luscious smoke.  There’s a sweetness in the background, but not sure it’s ?.   

1/3:  The aroma is a combo of sweet & sour.  Just delightful.  I’m getting flavors of honey, toasted bread, light coffee, & some subtle ?...maybe.  Tough to decipher if it’s ? or not.  Very faint unfortunately out on the edges.  ?

2/3: Very similar to first 1/3.  More creamy, toasted bread, light coffee, but no ? bang.  This is still the best RyJ I’ve had to date.  Strength has gained to a medium.

3/3: Last third saw the sweetness begin to fade away.  Pepper & earth appeared.  Maybe this needs more age or just more rest for this fresh arrival.  I’ll revisit this box after another 60days of rest to see if it transforms more.  

Rating:  I’ll give this a solid 91.  If the ? goes BANG! next time, look out.  It will easily jump 95.
