Popular Post Bri Fi Posted December 31, 2019 Popular Post Posted December 31, 2019 I love Tatuaje because it’s very similar in production and flavors as CC. Pete Johnson does it right. From my understanding this cigar is from a 2013 crop but wasn’t produced until 2015. I purchased a couple singles a year and a half ago from a local BM and was blown away. I also spent $25 per single so it better blow you away at that price. I recently purchased a box of ten online as a result of that experience. I used a straight cut on this one. Cold draw was amazing in itself. Sometimes you get flavors that kick you in the mouth and you don’t even have to think about what your tasting. Here it’s chocolate covered raisins. That’s all I get, and it’s all I needed. The wrapper is dark and silky with an almost holographic sheen. First third was a flavor adventure. It started off with those chocolate notes in the pre draw but the raisins were less prevalent. More of a generic fruity sweetness. Cream became dominant every so often, then hid in the background. The cigar is incredibly smooth. I can retrohale the smoke which I normally can’t do with NC and only do sometimes with CC. Plumes of viscous smoke coat the mouth and hang in the air, even outdoors. The burn is spot on with a white flaky ash. Second third brought in completely different flavors. It’s almost as if the blend called for changes at the second third. More earthy and meaty flavors with hints of spice. The cream popped up again here and there. Construction still perfect. Final third was similar to the first third but with more dark chocolate. There was a slight bitterness that showed up as it closed but it wasn’t overwhelming. The burn got a little wonky which tells me it could’ve been a bit over humidified. Possibly my fault I didn’t let them rest enough after transit. Still amazing flavors though. It’s New Year’s Eve and it happens that my best smoke of the year was on the last day. I said earlier Tatuaje has cuban like profiles. The first third was a mix of Hoyo and Monte. The second third was Bolivar, Partagas, and San Cristobal. The last was Like a Monte 4 on steroids. Some of us automatically assume CC are king, but we are all cigar lovers. This NC stick was a cigar lovers dream. I tip my cap to Pete Johnson. 96/100. Hope you all have a great 2020; happy New Years. 6
havanaclub Posted December 31, 2019 Posted December 31, 2019 Pete does it right most of the time. Had his Drinking Age 2015 exclusive last night. Aged very well. It’s a black label variant. Try the new brown label Escascos, especially in the cazzy size, you will not be disappointed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Bri Fi Posted December 31, 2019 Author Posted December 31, 2019 I’ll check it out. Thanks for the advice. I love the black petit lancero so I’ll see if I can find any Drinking Age.
havanaclub Posted January 1, 2020 Posted January 1, 2020 I’ll check it out. Thanks for the advice. I love the black petit lancero so I’ll see if I can find any Drinking Age. Good luck with that. They are long gone, a store exclusive in 2015. But could be had on the secondary market I am sure at a premium. Love those PR black labels too. I have a few OR left.
