5thStarChicago Posted December 3, 2019 Posted December 3, 2019 I pick up a 50ct. cabinet of these at auction a couple of months ago (for a great price) and this is my 4th one from the cab. Here's a quick partial review: Wrapper color is a little lighter than I would prefer but I really wanted a cab and these are certainly not too pale. It could have used another day out of the humidor but I had a couple hours and was in the mood. Unlit it definitely had an older smell to it and the dry draw had some sweet metallic dry dirt to it. I have an affinity for Punch cigars anyway and these don't disappoint. Plenty of sweetness with light hay notes and a touch of pepper but overall balanced and pleasant. Light side of medium body with and smooth easy retro-hale. Throughout the first half this maintained but the pepper faded and some sour notes started to build. Overall great flavor that isn't overpowering and easy to pair. It worked with the Justin cab I opened but could have easily worked with a lighter wine or lighter whiskey too. Unfortunately after the 1st half I was ordered onto grill duty for me and my dad and I couldn't pay as much attention to the cigar as I had planned. I still enjoyed it but due to multiple relights as a result of my negligence and no fault of the cigar, the sour notes built more and the balance got less enjoyable. I still smoked it down to nothing and would give it a solid 89, would have been higher had I not let it go out so many times. Cheers! 1
