Popular Post GavLew79 Posted November 12, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 12, 2019 These get a lot of love. "Caramel bombs". I think my cab is a dud. I tried after 6 months, I tried after 12 months, I tried after 24 months, I smoked 5 at 4 years old and now I try again at 5.5 years old. Let's just say I had one good one in that period, at 4 years. A gnarly looking wrapper, toothy and all eyes. This bugger doesn't bode well. I sniff the cigar and it makes me sneeze. The first puffs go well. A nice smooth rounded typical aged cigar with some sweet notes. Am I here? Have I reached PLPC Nirvana? No. The first third quickly becomes... unremarkable. Just tobacco, bland and mild. I get faint hints of cream and sweetness but, alas, they become ever more fleeting. There is no caramel. There are hints of green, sour, horrible overly-hot characters that I associate with under-cured, or too young cigars. The burn is good, at least. I slow my puffing trying to delay the inevitable... The second third deteriorates. The rank, sour character dominates and any hope of sweet caramel is now just a vestige of toasted tobacco. My slow puffing means that the burn is also off and I have to trade off the hot sour taste of puffing normally with the constant lighter action to keep the wrapper burning with everything else. I don't bother with the final third and call it a day. Damn you Nemesis! I want to love you, why do you regard me so!? NB: this is only one box. I'm sure your examples are lovely. 5 1
