Popular Post rk1900 Posted November 4, 2019 Popular Post Posted November 4, 2019 "A brief explanation on why I don’t have my box codes. Unfortunately for me, my home burned down in a fire and all my boxes burned. Fortunately for me, most of my cigars were stored in another location, especially my “Cuban Experiment.” After reading about how aging benefited cigars, I decided set aside 9 Cuban boxes of various sizes in 1998 to see how they aged. This cigar is from that collection. " I had previously did another review and i just copied that above from that review to save me time. The real difference is that this cigar was born in 97. The reason why I know that is, I bought this box in order to celebrate the future birth of my first son, but for review sake I just labeled it as 1998. Rather than give a typical review I decided to refer to my notes that I've kept during this experiment for this particular cigar during the years in which I sampled. "Note" - To me and my taste buds you can generally get smooth/creamy coffee, cedar, earth, and a light creamy chocolate flavors with a smooth finish medium body. To me creamy best describes an esplendido, just take whatever flavor you deem and add creamy to the front. 1998-Flavors listed above are prominent, aged tobacco, medium body 2000-Smoother than what I remember, still medium body, flavors more pronounced 2005-Those ever so slight flavors of hay/nut have vanished. Cream notes throughout the smoke. Still medium bodied. Consistently smooth. 2010-This cigar is a very smooth, mellow, creamy beast. The prominent flavors are still there, but the subtle flavors have all but disappeared. This cigar plateaued somewhere since the last time I tested this cigar. 2015-Still the same ole smoke, but flavors have mellowed slightly. Is this what I attribute to added creaminess? Body is shifting to medium/light. Is this the final change for this cigar? 2019-Best cigar I've had today period. (NOTE: My son turned 21 the day I wrote that entry. I gave one cigar to him in order to share what I had saved from the celebration of his birth. I guess I'll smoke another when he get married) 13
